Someone with the
Catholic news service made an embarrassing mistake when
they tweeted a Happy
Hanukkah greeting which included a relief from
the Arch of Titus
celebrating the destruction of Jerusalem during the Jewish
Wars of 66-74 A.D. The Sculpture appears on the Arch of Titus erected by
the emperor
Domitian about 81 A.D. The Arch depicts all the plunder
taken
from Jerusalem including a menorah which the Catholic News Service
depicted in
their tweet. It didn't take long for quick observers to notice the
mistake and for the news service to apologize & delete the tweet.
